The Wanted

The Wanted is a band, which was formed in 2009 in the United Kingdom. It’s mostly famous for such songs as “All Time Low”, “Glad You Came”, and “Chasing The Sun”. The lineup of this boyband includes Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker, and Nathan Sykes.

The Wanted were established in 2009 in London by the producer Jayne Collins, who used to work with the band The Saturdays. She arranged a mass audition and eventually chose the 5 winners, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker, and Nathan Sykes.

In 2010, the band released their first single “All Time Low”. The song topped the UK Singles Chart and entered German and Irish charts. It was certified golden by BPI. The band was inspired by the single’s success and started recording their debut album, which was produced by Guy Chambers, Taio Cruz, and Steve Mac. In October, the LP The Wanted was released. It reached the 4th position on UK Albums Chart and 11th spot on Irish Albums Chart. The album was certified platinum by BPI. The singles from that album “Heart Vacancy” and “Lose My Mind” were big hits in the UK.

In 2011, the band went on the first tour The Behind Bars Tour. The tickets to the concerts were sold out within a week. The band visited 12 UK cities. In November, The Wanted released their second album Battleground. It reached the 5th spot on the UK Albums Chart and the 4th spot on the Irish Albums Chart. The single from the LP “Glad You Came” topped the UK Singles Chart for two weeks and Irish Singles Chart for 5 weeks. The singles “Lightning” and “Warzone” were also very successful in the UK, reached the 2nd and the 21st spot on the UK Singles Chart accordingly.

In 2012, the band became popular in the UK and Canada, selling 3 million copies of “Glad You Came”. The song reached the 3rd spot on Billboard Hot 100. The single “Chasing the Sun” was a big hit all over the world. It reached the 2nd spot on UK Singles Chart and entered Billboard Hot 100.

In 2013, the band released their third album Word Of Mouth, which was a big success, reaching the 9th spot on the UK Albums Chart and receiving a silver certification from BPI. After the release of the album, the band went on a Word Of Mouth world tour.

In 2014, the band announced that they are going on a hiatus but plan to get back to working together in the future.
